This course for IEP team members. It is for TRAINING CREDIT (not in-service credit), so it can be completed during the regular work day.
Extended school year is determined annually by the IEP team, according to IDEA 34 C.F.R.§300.106, and should be made in a timely manner so the parent(s)/legal guardian(s) can make adequate plans for the student’s participation as well as consider their rights in relation to the decision. In this course IEP team members will focus on eligibility requirements for the Extended School Year process. The IEP team will use this information to guide their decision making process when considering eligibility determination for Extended School Year Services.
