IDEA outlines procedural safeguards to protect children and allow parents to be equal participants in their learning. An Individualized Education Program (IEP) is a written statement of the educational program designed to meet a child’s individual needs. Every child who receives special education services must have an IEP, therefore the process of developing it is of great interest and importance to educators, administrators, and families. This training provides Special Education teachers, administrators and related services personal guidance when creating an IEP, based on Tennessee Department of Education and federal guidelines.
